Yes, and my name is Leon Hendrix. This CD is about my child hood with Jimi, and comes right from my heart.
In loving memory of my brother James Marshal Hendrix.

Leon Hendrix Band known as Leon Hendrix Mysterience Releases Their CD;
"KEEPER OF THE FLAME" Lyrics Touch On a Story of the Hendrix Brothers Childhoods in the Central District, History Is Made
|
The "KEEPER OF THE FLAME" CD is released by
The Leon Hendrix Band! You can strip the long hair and the exotic Cherokee chiseled looks from Jimi Hendrix's baby brother but you can't miss certain unmistakable qualities in that voice. With Leon's own strong, powerful lyrics coming straight from the love in his heart and an art for keeping life real through his own style of music, the messages that Leon spells out as the KEEPER OF THE FLAME reflect the passion and truth that ribbon through the Hendrix Legend.
Leon Hendrix and his power drivin' band are rockin' stages from Seattle to Vegas, California and beyond
The four-member group is comprised of Leon Hendrix, lead singer and lead guitarist; Mark Stella on bass guitar and background vocals; JYPSYEYE a.k.a. Stefen Isaac on guitar; with Neil Kirkland handling the keyboard, percussion, and background vocals. Their music is deep, reflects the soul, and has a mystical array.
Lyrics Touch On Story of the Hendrix Brothers' Childhood
Throughout the new KEEPER OF THE FLAME release, the listener is welcomed to a little "pow-wow!" As you sit on the branches of the Hendrix family tree, simply sway in the breeze and feel free to just rock out as Leon reveals story upon story of his true feelings. Such as the first cut on the CD. (#1.) "Jimi And Me" Leon talks about growing up with Jimi. The second song (#2.) "Voodoo River" is a song about a woman that puts Voodoo on you down by the river. It has a "Cajun Gypsy" feel in the music that flows deep in the Hendrix blood from Leon and Jimi's Mama's side of the gene pool. The Third song. (#3.) "Mission For My Mother" Is a song about Leon wanting to have a better grave site for his mama which he was able to achieve. The touching fourth cut (#4.) "Every Blue September" is a heart warmer. It's almost as if you, the listener, are eavesdropping on a one-sided conversation between the two Hendrix Brothers as Leon pours out questions to his big brother about what it will be like when the two see each other in Heaven. You can almost feel older brother, Jimi Hendrix, rocking out with him in spirit! The next song (#5.) "Purple Flame" a song about his DNA and his destiny. The next track is (#6.) "Laughter In The Wind" This song just makes you feel good inside. "Have your ever heard a robin sing in the spring?" A wonderful laugh is in the track and makes you feel good. (#7.) "Hell You Make" Is a song about things we all do stupid at times and then have to get out of a mess we got ourselves in. Leon and the band also show their Patriotic American pride on the cut, (#8.) "FLIGHT 93", which starts off with a haunting melodic keyboard. Then Leon speaks from his patriotic heart about his dedication to all the heroes on that dreadful day, as the band rips into the song with metal "balls to the wall" force! If music is truly the sound track of our lives, you can almost sense at which point in the music the heroes became... well, Heroes of FLIGHT 93! Track (#9.) "Seattle Rain" Is of course about the home town rain from Seattle, WA, were Leon and Jimi Hendrix grow up and played in the sand and rain together. The last track on the CD (#10) Is a love song and could also be a song about wanting to be or go back to a higher power. All in all the The Keeper of The Flame CD is a interesting and enjoyable CD Leon often feels his brother's presence while playing, and the band members have felt chills while playing, as though Jimi is enjoying the music with them. While the CD was being recorded at Self Adhesive Records in Seattle, Washington, a purple glow was reported to been seen
KEEPER OF THE FLAME is more than Hendrix Legacy
May the "KEEPER OF THE FLAME" blaze on into a bright future!

Leon, i have heard keepers about 9 times already. right now it's playing again while i am on computer. i think i will be the 1st person to hear it 100 times before anyone else besides your band.and i noticed i was the 1st person to post my feedback on your website.check it out if you dident already.its a good review, what else!!!!!!! i personally want you to know what i just told neil on the phone. i have a hard time concentrating on understanding lyrics from most nds going way back in the days.i think i am very select listener and mostly hear the music and the meledies and how the music is talking to me. but when i opened the cd to read the lyrics to ''jimi and me'' it made me choke up andvery powerful heartfeltset of lyrics. i know of 2 radio stations i already called this morning and voiced mailed them to ask who to send cd to and and addresses. i left messages with the program directors.i am on fire here and will do rything i can to get a lot of radio stations to tell me
to send cd to them.since i have a lot of free time on my hands i am going to find a bakers dozen or more stations who will have the cd to listen to and possibly play. i see no problem with the cd since it is a goldmine in my eyes. some of the best music out there. i know and thats that. love arthur and cherokee sue. batty for your music...p,s, jimi IS proud of you big brother, he's a proud of you. he started the walk and your taking over.

The CD is what I was hoping to here from Leon. This is my opinion only, but
there isn't a black man today out there playing this kink of Rock music that I know of. I don't listen to much of what's on the radio, since it's only a repeat of the same old crap they want to hear.
So far, the people I've let listen to it, say they like it. I only received the pre-release with no cover, or information. But the music stands for itself. I listen to it everyday, and hope the radio stations try playing it someday.
Thanks
